For a lie to add piquancy to a story the story would be factual. Fantasy needs no lie to stimulate or excite. But if the factual story is contrived or fallacious then it’s the fantasy that is the lie.
The Story That Had No Beginning (my very latest) now has its end and has been locked away awaiting the call from my publisher.
I shouldn’t have favourites. My books are my family. To a large extent, they define me, my values, my philosophy and what I hold dear. This last one I have been wanting to write ever since The Desolate Garden was published in 2012, but for thousands of reasons I never wrote it until now. It’s not a large book. Somewhere in between a novella and a novel, however, I think it carries the biggest message of anything I’m capable of writing.
