Me!

If you are ever so fed up that you need a smile, then on the link below you will find my website.

I cannot guarantee that you will laugh yourself silly, but I hope it’s amusing and gives an insight into my writing and poetry. There is a guest book at the end where you can, if desperately short of another writer in your internet life, leave a message and I will try to message back.

Who Holds The Blame? By Danny Kemp

486226a53d39ae34232efb2b4de0afc4

Was anyone watching in 45 when all was given peace? The dead had given their souls away for the living to find release.

For forty-five years, a bomb held the day, with the brave holding fear. They cherished that threat and now, although hidden, still hold it dear.,

In 89, peace was tried again as a wall crumbled and fell. The boastful, forgetful, self-righteous West laid blame. The Eastern Block fostered all that was ill.

Russia found commercialism discovering freedom of speech. Wars found other places for its desolation to reach.

War is wrong but followed by those who have no rational thought! The wastefulness of chaos is the lesson that is taught.

Righteous democracy preaches guns, power, drugs, influence and worse.  Unfashionable humanism is a disciples curse.

Will man kill man until extinct, or will thought be the first to die. Which version of a truth is to be believed, do only militants speak a lie?

Religion is a pursuit of interest in all its myriad ways. War is a religion, where lies fill the communiques.

The dead charge a small price for souls, the living pay more! They survive in a world where the truth is a festering sore!

The human mind is selective, it remembers truth when the day has gone. Politics is evil, it’s not the man with the gun!

Embrace Your Body To Pass Through The Age Of Anxiety, by Danny Kemp (with due regard to WH Auden)

fe539b17af40d1e1e13f36203f9c9379

One doesn’t have to dress for dinner,
But if dining with strangers it’s probably better so to do!

One doesn’t have to be dressed to commit murder,
But if it’s a chilly night then be prepared to catch the flu!

One doesn’t have to be dressed to travel on the underground,
There are plenty down there already with a questionable background!

One doesn’t have to dress to play tennis,
The bits that wobble could be an advantage! Your opponent may be reminded of a brothel!

One need not be dressed at one’s own funeral,
Just employ a good mortician and leave a note saying your clothes were stolen!

Think of it this way; one is naked when leaving the womb, so why not be naked when about to enter a tomb?

Remember this, we are now in………..The Age Of Anxiety?

Does The Devil Live In Winter? By Danny Kemp

26460732e907b5f24a525903cbd1d8be

Bright sunny days following clear starry nights.
The days are chilly but longer grows solar light.

Winter has yet to show its teeth,
Its cold claws and talons kept ensheathe.

Spring awaits those with dreams
Of wistful thoughts and beguiling schemes.

Will the summer’s swallows carry them high?
Of will, they crash from a doom burdened sky?

Are dreams and wishes human flaws,
Encased within the devil’s claws?

Don’t Drop The (English) Biscuit! By Danny Kemp

50cfe4a9e4d25ee93419e8a1d5d1f855.

A cup of tea with a dunked biscuit sitting on the bottom!
If that’s how your day begins, does it make you feel rotten?

Do you pick it up with a spoon then lick the spoon clean?
Satisfying I know, but it’s not quite haute cuisine.

Do you leave it to the end sliding it down your throat,
Then take a furtive look around whilst silently you gloat?

Perhaps you’re the innocent kind, ignoring the sweet remains,
Held back from recognition by some moralistic reins?

HOWEVER, if you never dunk it you’ll never know what you’ll do,
so there you are, I’ll graciously leave the decision entirely up to YOU…Boom boom.

Everything and Nothing, by Danny Kemp

e478c4233ff1d79f0bf50fce58b427c3

“Nothing is not always nothing,” said the wise man to the child,
“Because nothing can be everything,” he added as he smiled.

“Nothing can be your wish, your dream and your desire,
But only if you had everything and from that you did tire!

First you must try the reverse to know if it suits you best,
Then you have something on which you can compare the rest.

Fools speak on subjects they know nothing about,
While the wise examine everything with a great deal of doubt.

Dismiss nothing and everything will come in time.
To do nothing makes everything a crime.

Move On Baby, by Danny Kemp

b471c7f6b237be29484d44a3ef687117

I want to pick the flowers and taste the rain,
Forget this world and be happy again.
I need to forget you and set myself free.
Step away from this nightmare and find the real me.

Love is not always what it seems,
Maybe it existed only in my dreams.
But my dream crashed without a sound
Just like a bubble as it hit the ground.

I want to feel the sun breaking through the sky.
I don’t want to sit here with the tears that I cry.
I need to feel the warmth of a tender touch.
I want that pleasure that you gave so much.

Love is not always what it seems,
Maybe it existed only in my dreams.
But my dream crashed without a sound
Just like a bubble as it hit the ground.

If you’ve found love, then make sure it’s true,
Don’t be like me and let it lie to you.
Never fall in love just for love’s sake.
You owe it to yourself not to make that mistake.

Love is not always what it seems,
Maybe it existed only in my dreams.
But my dream crashed without a sound
Just like a bubble as it hit the ground.

It’s move on time baby, that’s what I must do,
Far away and removed from you!

Unspoken Love, by Danny Kemp

42a8621327ae14223e101fa086ab72ca

His heart is racing as her face he touches, but he’s holding on to his sanity.
His life is over unless the words she utters, break free from her banality.
Say you love me, his screams unanswered. He’s praying violently.
Unmoved she lays, hushed, unforthcoming. The words remain; silently.

A New Beginning, by Danny Kemp

3386a0ee5b5a8ae5ed843da37dc7c855

In these days of winter, when the frost lays thick and fast,

Does your mind drift unto memories that happened in your past?

Were they ones of happiness, did they make you glad?

Or are there lingering ones that bring memories of being sad?

As the year draws to an end, and a new one grows ever near,

Hold close those dearest memories keeping them strong and ever clear.

Cast away the demons that held you back from being you,

Then 2015 will be an ever better year for your memories to travel through!
